What members say
"I hadn't played since school. Six months later I've got a rating and a regular Monday afternoon I actually look forward to."

About us
We're a community club for anyone who loves the game — from beginners learning the pieces to seasoned campaigners chasing rated events.
QCC began as a handful of players meeting in a borrowed hall with two battered sets and a lot of enthusiasm. Decades on, the club has grown into one of Queensland's steadiest fixtures on the chess calendar, with a full season of rated events and a strong junior pathway.
What hasn't changed is the atmosphere: a place where a nine-year-old can play a grandparent, where analysis happens over a coffee afterwards, and where nobody is made to feel slow.
Our tournaments are submitted for national rating where applicable.
Club night
Doors open from 3:30 pm at the Latvian Club, 24 Church Ave, Woolloongabba QLD 4102.
Committee
Our committee is elected each year at the annual general meeting and volunteers their time to keep the club running.
